Gaerne products are designed for riding, so the sizing is different from regular shoes. Each model also has a different last, sole shape, and sole manufacturing method, so the sizing varies. We have prepared a size chart based on the sole and last data for each model, so please use it to help you choose your size.
SG-12 size (equivalent to regular sneaker size)
26 (equivalent to 25.0cm to 25.5cm)
26.5 (equivalent to 26.0cm)
27 (equivalent to 26.5cm)
27.5 (equivalent to 27.0cm)
28 (equivalent to 27.5cm to 28.0cm)
If the calf strap is tight, you can use the Type A Extra Long Strap (sold separately) .
The SG-12's greatest feature is its double pivot system. The rear frame, called the "RAZOR BACK," is attached to the boot body with one pivot, securing it in place while leaving the necessary movement in the forward, backward, left, and right directions. This provides high rigidity and proper positioning. The second pivot allows the upper part of the RAZOR BACK to slide into the back of the boot, providing natural pedaling and absorbing shock when landing (especially during short or over-jump jumps).
The flexible, floating shin plate ensures an excellent fit. The owner can adjust the thickness by simply removing three screws.
A rubber guard is used on the inside of the case that comes into contact with the machine. The area is double that of the previous model, enhancing the sense of unity with the machine. It also functions as a heat guard.
The inner padding is made of memory cells (shape-memory material). The moment you put your foot in, it conforms to the shape of your foot and maintains that shape. This ensures a comfortable fit and direct control.
The insole is made of high-grade material, which helps to position the foot correctly. The heel area is made of shock-absorbing material, which improves the fit.
When making boots, Gaerne pays particular attention to the sole manufacturing method. The sole manufacturing method not only greatly affects the comfort of the boots, but also makes a significant difference in the protection they provide. Gaerne's competition boots are made using the Norwegian method (commonly known as Norvegiese), a traditional Northern Italian manufacturing method that is said to last for 100 years. The major advantage of the Norwegian method is that the sole is extremely rigid. This manufacturing method has been a focus of Gaerne's founder, Mr. Gazzola, since the company's founding, and can only be made with the skills of a skilled artisan. This is one of the reasons why Gaerne boots are still made in Italian factories.
Each product is handmade by artisans at the Gaerne factory in the Veneto region of Italy.
