Gaerne's Tough Gear series boasts easy on/off with one-touch lock and release buckles, and the ease of use that comes with synthetic leather (microfiber) that requires no "break-in" period.
Tough Gear 40 combines this with a special overdyeing technique, which gives the shoe a vintage-like texture as you wear it, adding the enjoyment of aging like genuine leather.
Gaerne products are designed for riding, so the sizing is different from regular shoes. Each model also has a different last, sole shape, and sole manufacturing method, so the sizing varies. We have prepared a size chart based on the sole and last data for each model, so please use it to help you choose your size.

The boots are made of a synthetic leather called microfiber, which has the texture of genuine leather, and feature Gaerne's traditional careful stitching and excellent manufacturing techniques for a high-quality finish. Microfiber is soft and does not require breaking in like genuine leather boots, so you can enjoy comfortable wear from the day you buy them.
The extensive shirring from the rear of the boot to the ankle improves mobility and allows for smooth stride work.
The interior is made of quick-drying polyester mesh, which prevents stuffiness in the summer and keeps you comfortable even when wearing them for long periods of time.
Heat-moldable fiber is built into the heel and toe for complete protection.
Equipped with an aluminum adjustable buckle, the strap can be adjusted in 3mm increments.
The buckle base also has screw holes that allow it to be adjusted in two stages (22mm movement), so you can adjust it perfectly to fit your feet.
The reliable Vibram block sole is used. The carefully designed block pattern provides the same grip as outdoor shoes, allowing you to walk comfortably on any surface.
Each product is handmade by artisans at the Gaerne factory in the Veneto region of Italy.
The TOUGH GEAR 40 is equipped with Type A buckles/straps (the same as those used on Gaerne's high-end motocross models).
The Type B buckle that comes with the previous TOUGH GEAR is not compatible, so please purchase Type A when replacing. The only other difference is the coloring, but since it is made of the same microfiber material, there are no differences in the specifications. Other specifications and size are the same as the previous TOUGH GEAR.
The microfiber used in the TOUGH GEAR 40 is dyed with a darker brown overlay, creating an uneven look. This special overdyeing allows the base color to gradually emerge in areas that come into contact with friction, such as the straps, inside the shoe, and ankle, over time, allowing you to enjoy the aging of the shoe with a vintage look.
For those who don't like the material changing over time, we recommend Tough Gear Brown, which uses plain microfiber.

"購入サイズは42（27㎝）を選びました。 試着無料サービス(交換可)があるので、サイズが合わなかった際でも不安がありません。👍 履いてみると、足幅と高さともにジャストフィット、つま先は多少余裕ありという感じで、裏を返せば厚みのある冬用靴下を履くとキツメ、調整ベルトが二段階あるので緩くなる一段目で留めることになりました。 街乗りやツーリングでの履き心地は抜群で歩き難さもありません。一方で靴の構造がとてもしっかりしてるので、所有しているレーシングブーツ同様にコース走行でも不満がありません。 唯一要改善ポイントがあるとすれば、ベルト留めの金具で靴外皮が傷つく恐れがあるので、私はこの金具裏部に緩衝材を貼って保護しました。 なお、ご参考までに私の足は実測で26. 1㎝ほどでスニーカーやビジネスシューズは26. 5㎝＋３E幅、かつ甲高ですので、ガエルネのレーシングブーツでは42(27㎝)を履いています。"
