Handroid is a racing hand armor that brings together the technology Knox has been developing in protection since 1981 into a single glove.

The most distinctive feature of the Handroid is the exoskeleton system on each finger. These pipe-like components, arranged like a skeletal structure, allow for smooth clutch and brake operation while reducing damage to the fingers and knuckles by absorbing impact in the event of a fall. The palm side features the SPS system, which acts as a slider between the hand and the road surface during a fall, reducing pressure on not only the hand but also the arm and shoulder to prevent compression fractures and similar injuries. While this is a feature found in other Knox gloves, the Handroid's SPS is made even more robust and effective by incorporating MICRO-LOCK.

In actual racing scenarios, it is not enough to have exceptional protection; operability is equally important. While the exoskeleton system also improves operability, the use of the BOA system for wrist tightening—allowing the user to achieve the exact fit they prefer—is also deeply connected to its ease of use. It allows for uniform tightening across the entire wrist, and can be loosened instantly by pulling the dial, making it highly practical as well.

While racing specs are naturally effective on the circuit, this level of specification is also useful on public roads as a means of protecting the rider. It is a glove with a design that stands apart from others. Wear top-tier specs and enjoy your sports riding.

Differences between Handroid Mark 5 and Mark 4

While the wrist cuff on the Mark 4 featured guards on both the inner and outer sides, the Mark 5 has been changed to a single outer cuff, which offers higher utility. Furthermore, by incorporating MICRO-LOCK inside the cuff, it has become not only more resistant to abrasion but also more effective at impact absorption.
Additionally, on the Mark 5, the BOA dial now allows for fine-tuned loosening in addition to tightening adjustments. Other improvements include a shorter thumb length and the addition of a Velcro wrist strap, resulting in a better fit and even more comfortable feel.

New SPS (Scaphoid Protection System)

This system is achieved through two protectors located on the palm. In the event of a fall, the SPS acts as a "slider," helping the palm maintain the same speed as the rider when it makes contact with the road. This eases the pressure on the shoulders and arms, protecting the rider from injuries such as compression fractures (International Patent: EP1594378). Compared to previous models, the inclusion of MICRO-LOCK inside the SPS provides improved impact absorption. MICRO-LOCK is a proprietary shock-absorbing material developed by Knox that is soft to the touch but locks (hardens) upon impact.

BOA System

A dial-based "BOA" wire system is used for wrist tightening. Simply push and turn the dial to make precise adjustments, allowing for even tightening or loosening. To remove, simply pull the BOA dial to release instantly.

Exoskeleton

The exoskeleton refers to the pipe-like components arranged on each finger like a skeletal structure.
It is the core protection system that defines the Handroid glove. "Exoskeleton" literally translates to "external skeleton." In the event of an accident, these parts attached to each finger play an important role in absorbing shock, mitigating damage to the knuckles and fingers, and softening friction against the road surface. These pipe-like parts move flexibly, ensuring both operability and protection without hindering finger movement.

Kangaroo Palm

Tear-resistant kangaroo leather is used on the grip area of the palm.

Gauntlet

The gauntlet cuff uses a polyethylene protector that is slim, durable, and flexible. By placing the protector only on the outer side, operability is enhanced.
The inclusion of MICRO-LOCK inside the protector provides impact absorption. MICRO-LOCK is a proprietary shock-absorbing material developed by Knox that is soft to the touch but locks (hardens) upon impact.

Touchscreen Compatible

The index finger, middle finger, and thumb are touchscreen compatible.
However, touch operations can only be performed with the pads of the fingers (where the fingerprints are). Since the design does not allow for touchscreen interaction at the very tips of the fingers, it may not be suitable for those who prioritize smooth, continuous touchscreen navigation.
