Knox's representative model "Handroid Mark 5"
Handroid is a racing hand armor that brings together the technology of Knox, which has been working on protection since 1981, into gloves.
The Handroid's greatest feature is the exoskeleton system on each finger. The skeletal-like pipe-like parts allow for smooth clutch and brake operation, and in the unlikely event of a fall, absorbs impact to reduce damage to fingers and knuckles. The palm side of the hand is equipped with an SPS system, which acts as a slider between the road surface and the hand in the event of a fall, reducing pressure on not only the hand but also the arms and shoulders, preventing compression fractures. While this feature is also found in other Knox gloves, the Handroid's SPS incorporates MICRO-LOCK, making it even more durable and effective.
In actual racing situations, outstanding protection isn't enough; ease of use is also important. The exoskeleton system also improves operability, but the use of the BOA system for wrist tightening also contributes to ease of use by achieving the most comfortable tightening for the user. The harness tightens evenly around the entire wrist, and when you want to remove it, you can quickly loosen it by pulling the dial, making it very practical.
Racing specs are naturally effective on the circuit, but these items that protect riders are also useful on public roads. These gloves have a design that sets them apart from other gloves in terms of style. Enjoy sports riding with the highest specs on your hands.
Recommended for:
- Those who drive on circuits or winding roads, or who want to drive in the future
- Those looking for gloves that are easy to use on sports bikes
- Those who want the highest level of protection from their gloves
Not suitable for the following people:
- Those looking for gloves with excellent cold weather protection
- Those who want short gloves that reach the wrist (in that case, we recommend the Handroid POD )
Differences between Handroid Mark 5 and Mark 4
The wrist cuffs that protect the wrists were attached to both the inside and outside of the Mark 4, but in the Mark 5 they have been changed to being attached to just the outside, which is more useful. In addition, MICRO-LOCK is now built into the cuffs, making them not only resistant to wear but also more shock-absorbing.
In addition, the BOA dial on the Mark 5 can now be adjusted not only for tightness but also for looseness. The thumb length has been shortened and a Velcro strap has been added to the wrist, making the goggles fit better and more comfortable.

Product details
New SPS (Scaphoid Protection System)
This system is achieved by two protectors located in the palm area. In the event of a fall, the SPS acts as a "slider" to maintain the rider's speed even if the palm of the hand comes into contact with the road. This relieves pressure on the shoulders and arms, protecting the rider from injuries such as compression fractures (International Patent Technology: EP1594378). Compared to previous models, the SPS incorporates MICRO-LOCK, which provides better shock absorption. MICRO-LOCK is a shock-absorbing material developed exclusively by Knox that is soft during normal use but hardens (LOCKs) upon impact.
BOA System
The wrist straps are tightened using the BOA dial-type wire system. Simply press and turn the dial for precise adjustments, and you can evenly tighten or loosen the straps. When you want to put them on or take them off, simply pull the BOA dial to release them.
Exoskeleton
An exoskeleton is a tubular part arranged like a skeleton on each finger.
The greatest feature of the Handroid Gloves is their protection system. The exoskeleton literally translates to "external skeleton." The parts attached to each finger absorb impact in the event of an accident, mitigating damage to the fist and fingers and reducing friction with the road surface. These pipe-like parts move flexibly and do not interfere with finger movement, achieving both operability and protection.
Kangaroo Palm
Kangaroo leather is used for the grip area of the palm, which is resistant to cuts.
Gauntlets
The gauntlets on the cuffs are made of slim polyethylene protectors that are shock-resistant and flexible. The protectors are only on the outside, improving operability.
The protector has built-in MICRO-LOCK, a shock-absorbing material developed exclusively by Knox that is normally soft but hardens (LOCKS) upon impact.
Touch panel compatible
The index finger, middle finger, and thumb are touchscreen compatible.
However, touch operation is only possible on the pads of your fingers (the area where your fingerprints are), and touch operation is not possible on the tips of the gloves, so they are not suitable for people who want smooth operation.
