The Handroid is a racing hand armor that brings together the technology of KNOX, a brand that has been crafting protective gear since 1981, into a glove. While long-cuff styles that completely cover the wrist were once essential for circuit use, the Handroid Pod is a short-cuff glove designed to bring that same technology to the open road.
The Handroid's most prominent feature is the exoskeleton system on each finger. These pipe-like components, arranged like a skeletal structure, allow for smooth clutch and brake operation while absorbing impact to reduce damage to the fingers and knuckles in the event of a fall. The palm features the SPS system, which acts as a slider against the road surface during a crash, reducing pressure on the wrists and shoulders to help prevent injuries like compression fractures. While this is a feature found on other KNOX gloves, the Handroid's SPS is now more robust and effective by incorporating MICRO-LOCK.
In actual racing, high-level protection alone is not enough; operability is equally critical. While the exoskeleton system enhances this, the use of the BOA fit system for the wrist is also deeply tied to superior operability, allowing the user to achieve their ideal tension. The wrist can be tightened uniformly, and the dial can be pulled to loosen it instantly, making it highly practical for everyday use.

The BOA dial on the MK4 only allowed for tightening, whereas the MK5 allows for both tightening and loosening adjustments.
Additionally, the thumb has been adjusted to be shorter than before, providing a better fit and even more comfortable feel.
This system consists of two protectors on the palm area. In the event of a fall, the SPS acts as a "slider," allowing the palm to maintain the same speed as the rider when it hits the road surface. This alleviates pressure on the shoulders and arms, helping to protect against injuries like compression fractures (International patent: EP1594378). Compared to previous models, the integration of MICRO-LOCK into the SPS provides enhanced impact absorption. MICRO-LOCK is an impact-absorbing material uniquely developed by KNOX that stays soft during normal use and locks (hardens) upon impact.
A dial-operated "BOA" wire system is used for wrist closure. Simply press and turn the dial for fine-tuned, uniform tightening and loosening. To remove the gloves, simply pull the BOA dial to release.
