When riding a motorcycle, it's important to wear protective gear in case of an emergency. However, there are only a limited number of protective motorcycle jackets to choose from, and from a fashion perspective, there isn't a wide variety of options.

The Urban Pro is a protective riding shirt that brings together the technology of KNOX, which has been making protection since 1981. It is made with a special mesh fabric that is resistant to cuts and abrasions, so you can wear it as is in the middle of summer, or layer it over your favorite jacket in the winter, allowing you to ride your bike in style while still being protected.

The shoulders, elbows, and back are fitted with MICRO-LOCK COMPACT protectors, which are thinner and more flexible than conventional MICRO-LOCK protectors. This protective material is normally soft and conforms to the body, but upon impact, such as a fall, it hardens to protect the body from impact. Because it is flexible under normal conditions, it can be worn very naturally, without the bulky or loose feel that comes with other protective jackets.

In hot weather, you can wear the Urban Pro by itself as a lightweight outer layer, taking advantage of its breathability, and in cold weather you can layer it with a jacket such as the Dual Pro , making it suitable for year-round use.

Differences between Urban Pro Mark 3 and Mark 2

The biggest difference is that the Mark 3's shoulder, elbow, and back protectors have been replaced with "MICRO-LOCK COMPACT protectors."
The MICRO-LOCK COMPACT protector is thinner and more flexible than ever before, making it even more comfortable to wear.
In addition, the design has been carefully crafted with attention to detail, such as the addition of pockets, making it more convenient than previous models.

We asked Jeff, the founder of KNOX, directly about Urban Pro!

Q. People often say that the Urban Pro is heavy. What do you think about this?

A. The reason it's heavy is because the back protector is larger than those of other companies. The CE standard requires that the protection range should be from the back to above the waist, but in the unlikely event of an accident, that's definitely not enough. It needs to reach all the way to the buttocks. That's why the weight of the Urban Pro is proof of its safety.

Q: Some people say they are confused about the size.

A. Wear it snugly. This will prevent the elbow and shoulder protectors from moving around, making it safer. Also, if it's too loose and wrinkles form, it will be harder for your skin to breathe. If there are gaps, heat will accumulate and you'll feel hot. Wearing it snugly is actually cooler. Plus, the Urban Pro becomes a part of your body, so you won't feel the weight.

Q. Is the mesh as durable as the other parts?

A. In conclusion, it is strong enough to withstand abrasion. Of course, it is slightly weaker in terms of impact resistance than non-mesh parts. This is because the CE standard requires strict testing of the elbows, shoulders, and back areas to withstand impacts, but the testing level is slightly lower for other areas. Mesh is only used in those areas.

Q. I heard this is Knox's best-selling product. Why is that?

A. This is not widely known, but most accidents occur at speeds below 30 km/h, when you say, "I'm just going out for a bit." Unfortunately, most people don't wear protective gear at times like that. Because it's a hassle, right? That's why I wanted to make the Urban Pro something that's absolutely hassle-free and can be put on immediately. I think that feeling was conveyed. It's my favorite product.

[166cm/60kg/Male] Size worn: S <br>I used to wear size M with the Mark 2, but with the Mark 3 the protector is thinner so my usual size, S, fits perfectly.
It fits your body better, making it easier to move around.

[170cm / 87kg / Male] Wearing size: L <br>Bust: 105cm, waist: 87-8cm. The chest fits well, but there is a little room around the waist. If you prioritize silhouette, L is the best choice. It may be too tight if you use the separately sold chest pads.

[175cm/67kg/Male] Wearing size M
The S size was tight around the arms, making it difficult to ride for long periods of time.
The M size has a little room in the arms, length, and around the waist, so I was able to comfortably assume a riding position even when straddling the bike with my arms stretched out over the handlebars.
