A smooth upper constructed from carefully selected single-piece leather, combined with a diagonally offset opening. These are riding boots featuring a luxurious playfulness only possible through expert craftsmanship.

With the FUGA, our goal was to balance the environment required for riding with the functional integrity inherent to footwear.
To optimize the riding environment, the upper, which forms the instep of the boot, is crafted from a single piece of leather, and the opening is offset. Creating the boot from a single piece of leather involves significant waste due to the luxurious amount of material required, which is reflected in the cost. However, the form, with its minimal seams, provides both aesthetic beauty and a comfortable fit due to its inherent flexibility. Furthermore, the smooth, even surface allows for seamless contact with the motorcycle.
The offset opening further realizes this concept in a tangible way. By shifting the position of the laces—which can hinder riding—to the outside, and adopting a snap-button method for securing the laces, the design remains sleek and smart, accentuating the clean silhouette.

About the Leather Tag

These boots come with a leather tag made from the same full-grain leather as the upper.
Because it is crafted with the same thickness and dyed in the same way as the shoes, you can feel the quality and substantial presence of the material firsthand. From the cross-section, you can see that thick leather is used without compromise.
The tag features the GAERNE logo and "MADE IN ITALY" engraving. It quietly tells the story of our heritage and the philosophy of our makers. It is a small token that allows you to see for yourself the high quality of the leather used in these boots, hold it in your hands, and enjoy the way it ages over time.

The leather tag included with this product is a specification effective from December 2025 onwards. Models prior to this date do not include the tag.

Please note that there are variations in the attachment method, with some tags threaded directly onto the laces and others fixed with metal fittings. Thank you for your understanding.
As the tag may come off during wear, we recommend removing and storing it when you are using the boots.

Because Gaerne products are designed specifically for riding, the sizing differs from standard footwear. Additionally, the sizing feel varies by model due to differences in the last, sole shape, and sole construction. We have prepared size charts based on the sole and last data for each model to assist you in choosing the right size.

This model features a pre-installed genuine leather insole, so it can be worn as-is without the included insole.
Please use the included insole for fine-tuning the fit once the boot leather has broken in.

Upper Material

ANFIBIO leather is a premium full-grain leather reserved exclusively for Gaerne’s high-end models; it is exceptionally durable yet becomes soft and supple as it breaks in. Furthermore, it is resistant to dirt and possesses a degree of natural water resistance (though it is not completely waterproof). Dyed ANFIBIO leather takes on color unevenly, creating a unique texture. The way the color shifts over time is also a major characteristic of this leather.

Sole Construction

A defining feature of this shoe is the Norwegian construction, known as "Norvegiese." This technique involves stitching the upper leather, insole, and outsole together with a unique lock stitch, offering various advantages. These include a thick sole that resists losing its shape, extremely high rigidity, robust durability for a longer lifespan, and the ability to resole the shoe. Much like the standard for high-end dress shoes, it has long been the optimal method for creating sturdy, elegantly finished footwear. However, the downside is that it is costly due to the complex process involved. As a result, many shoes that look like Norwegian or Goodyear welted items are often not truly constructed that way. These shoes were created with the desire to deliver the real thing, cost considerations aside. Gaerne refers to shoes like the No.145 and FUGA as "integral shoes," meaning "shoes that completely wrap around the foot."

These are handcrafted products made one by one by artisans at the Gaerne factory in the Veneto region of Italy. In the FUGA, you can feel the passion, pride, and sensibility of Gaerne's master craftsmen, nurtured by Italy’s history and culture of craftsmanship. Through the stitches that these artisans have sewn securely and carefully, one by one, you can also perceive their dedication and love for these shoes.
