At FUGA, our goal is to strike a balance between creating the environment necessary for riding and enhancing the shoes' inherent functionality.
To create a comfortable riding environment, the upper part of the shoe is made from a single piece of leather, with the opening offset. Forming the shoe from a single piece of leather results in a lot of wasted leather, which increases costs. However, the form with fewer seams not only looks beautiful, but also fits comfortably to the foot thanks to its flexibility. The smooth surface also allows for smooth contact with the motorcycle.
Furthermore, the offset of the opening makes this concept even more concrete. The position of the shoelaces, which tend to get in the way while riding, has been shifted to the outside, and the shoelaces are fastened with snap buttons. This gives the jacket a clean and smart appearance, enhancing the neat design.
About the texture of leather
Each FUGA is carefully handcrafted by skilled craftsmen. As a result, small scratches and uneven coloring of the leather may occur during the manufacturing process, but these are part of the product's individuality and are not considered defects.
Also, each boot will have individual differences in dyeing and shade. Please understand the characteristics of the leather and manufacturing process and enjoy your "one-of-a-kind" boots.

Gaerne products are designed for riding, so the sizing is different from regular shoes. Each model also has a different last, sole shape, and sole manufacturing method, so the sizing varies. We have prepared a size chart based on the sole and last data for each model, so please use it to help you choose your size.

This model comes with a genuine leather insole already attached, so you can use it as is without the included insole.

Upper Material
ANFIBIO leather is the finest full-grain leather, exclusively used in Gaerne's high-end boots. It's extremely durable yet soft once broken in. It's also stain-resistant, and the material itself has some water resistance (though it's not completely waterproof). Dyed ANFIBIO leather is dyed unevenly, creating a unique texture. Another distinctive feature of this leather is that its color changes over time.
Sole manufacturing method
These shoes are characterized by the Norwegian construction method, commonly known as Norvegiese. This method, which sews the upper, insole, and outsole together with a unique lock stitch, offers numerous advantages. These include a thick sole that retains its shape, exceptional rigidity, a durable finish that lasts a long time, and the ability to replace the sole. As a standard for high-end men's shoes, this method has long been the ideal way to create sturdy, beautifully finished shoes. However, the downside is the cost involved, which is a complex process. As a result, many shoes look like Norwegian or Goodyear shoes, but are actually quite different. These shoes are crafted without regard for cost, with a desire to deliver authenticity. Gaerne calls shoes like the No. 145 and FUGA integral shoes, meaning they completely encase the foot.

Each FUGA shoe is handcrafted by artisans at the Gaerne factory in the Veneto region of Italy. The pride and sensitivity of Gaerne's skilled craftsmen, nurtured by the history and culture of Italian craftsmanship, is evident in the careful stitching that goes into each and every stitch. You can also sense the dedication and love that these craftsmen have for these shoes.
