Smooth uppers made from carefully selected full-grain leather, and an obliquely offset opening. These riding boots boast a luxurious playfulness that only a true craftsman can achieve.

At FUGA, our goal was to balance optimizing the riding environment with enhancing the intrinsic functions of the boots. To create an optimal riding environment, we constructed the upper, which forms the instep of the boot, from a single piece of leather and offset the opening. Crafting from a single piece of leather, while luxurious, generates a lot of waste and is reflected in the cost. However, the seamless form, in addition to its aesthetic appeal, offers a comfortable, flexible fit for the foot. Furthermore, the smooth surface with minimal irregularities allows for seamless contact with the motorcycle. The offset opening further realizes this concept. We shifted the shoelace position, which can interfere with riding, to the outside, and adopted a snap-button closure for the shoelaces. This creates a clean, smart appearance that enhances the refined design.

About the leather texture

Each pair of Fuga boots is meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans. As a result, small scratches and variations in leather color may occur during the manufacturing process. These are considered characteristics of the product and not defects. Additionally, each boot has individual differences in dyeing and shading. Please understand the characteristics of the leather and manufacturing method, and enjoy your "one-of-a-kind" boots.

About the leather tag

These boots come with a leather tag made from the same full-grain leather as the upper. Crafted with the same thickness and dye as the boots, you can directly feel the quality and substantiality of the material. The cross-section reveals that thick leather has been used without reservation. The tag is embossed with the GAERNE logo and "MADE IN ITALY." This quietly speaks to its authentic origins and the maker's philosophy. It's a small tag that serves as proof, allowing you to visually inspect, touch, and even enjoy the age-related changes of the high-quality leather used in the boots.

The leather tag included with this product will be available for models from December 2025 onwards. It is not included with earlier models.

Additionally, there is a mix of specifications where the shoelaces are threaded directly and where they are secured with metal fittings. We appreciate your understanding.
As it may come off during wear, we recommend removing and storing it when using the boots.

Gaerne products are designed for riding, so their sizing differs from general shoes. Also, the last, sole shape, and sole manufacturing method vary by model, resulting in differences in fit. We have prepared a size chart based on the sole and last data for each model, so please use it to help you choose your size.

This model comes with a pre-attached leather insole, so you can use it as is without the included insole.

Product Details

Upper Material

ANFIBIO leather is a top-grade full-grain leather permitted only for high-end Gaerne boot models, characterized by its extreme durability yet softness once broken in. It is also highly resistant to dirt and possesses a certain degree of water resistance (though not completely waterproof). When dyed, ANFIBIO leather takes on an uneven color, creating a unique texture. The way the color changes over time is also a significant characteristic of this leather.

Sole Construction

What characterizes these shoes is the Norwegian welt construction, commonly known as "Norvegiese." This method offers various advantages by stitching the shoe's upper, insole, and outsole together with a distinctive lockstitch. For example, it results in a thick sole that is resistant to deformation, possesses extremely high rigidity, is robust and long-lasting, and allows for resoling. As a staple in high-end men's shoes, it has historically been the optimal method for creating sturdy and beautifully finished footwear. However, the complex process involved makes it expensive, which is a drawback. Consequently, many shoes may appear to use Norwegian or Goodyear welting but are actually made differently. These shoes disregard such costs, made with the desire to deliver an authentic product. Gaerne refers to shoes like No.145 and FUGA as integral shoes, meaning "shoes that completely encase the foot."

This product is handcrafted by artisans at the Gaerne factory in the Veneto region of Italy. From the FUGA, you can sense the passionate pride and sensibility of Gaerne's skilled craftsmen, cultivated by Italy's history and culture of manufacturing. You can also feel the dedication and love for these shoes in every meticulous stitch sewn by these craftsmen.
