No.145 is a long-selling boot born from the collaboration between Gaerne and Japex, worn by riders for over 30 years.
Its prototype is a work boot from the time of Gaerne's founding. With its perfected form left almost unchanged, it was reborn as a motorcycle boot by adding a shift guard to the left foot. The name "145" is inherited directly from the project number of that original boot.
The upper uses full-grain leather about 3mm thick, and leather is also used for the lining. It is crafted using Gaerne's signature Norwegian welt construction. The construction method, the leather, and the philosophy of craftsmanship all remain true to their origins. Owning a pair of No.145s means owning the technology and history that Gaerne has cultivated since its days making mountaineering boots.
And the true charm of the No.145 only begins to reveal itself after you start wearing them.
The leather conforms to your feet, wrinkles and scratches are etched into it, and its color and luster deepen. A boot made with a standard design transforms into a pair unique to you as you accumulate the roads you’ve traveled and the time you’ve spent. Seeing that change makes you want to wear them more. It makes you want to ride your motorcycle more.
Of course, they aren't "easy" boots.
The thick leather requires maintenance, the lace-up-only structure takes time to put on and take off, and they have a solid, substantial weight. But it is precisely because you polish them, lace them up, and wear them time after time to bridge the distance that even their stubborn nature becomes something you love.
No.145 is not a boot that is finished the day you buy it.
It becomes your own boot with every journey you take.
That is the kind of boot the No.145 is.
These boots come with a leather tag made from the same full-grain leather as the upper.
Since it is crafted with the same thickness and dyed in the same way as the shoes themselves, you can pick it up to verify the quality and heavy feel of the material firsthand. You can see from the cross-section that there was no skimping on the thick leather.
The tag is embossed with the GAERNE logo and MADE IN ITALY, quietly speaking to its authentic background and the craftsman's dedication. It is a small token that allows you to see for yourself the high quality of the leather used in the boots, touch it, and even enjoy the changes that come with age.
The leather tag included with this product is a specification for December 2025 and later. It is not included with models prior to this date.
Additionally, please note that there are variations in the attachment method, with some items threaded directly onto the shoelaces and others fixed with metal hardware.
As it may come off during wear, we recommend removing it for safekeeping when using the boots.
Gaerne products are designed for riding, so the sizing differs from standard shoes. Furthermore, because the last, sole shape, and sole construction vary by model, the sizing feel also differs for each. We have prepared a size chart based on the sole and last data for each model to assist you in choosing your size.

Because this model has a genuine leather insole already attached, you can use it as is without the included insole.
Please use the included insole for fine-tuning the size once the boot leather has broken in.

ANFIBIO leather is the highest grade of full-grain leather, permitted for use only in Gaerne's high-end boot models. It is characterized by being extremely durable while becoming soft once broken in. Furthermore, it is resistant to dirt and the material itself possesses a degree of water resistance (though it is not completely waterproof). Dyed ANFIBIO leather takes on color unevenly, creating a unique texture. The way the color changes over time is also a major feature of this leather.
The feature that defines this boot is the Norwegian welt construction, known as "Norvegese." This construction method offers various advantages by stitching the upper, the insole, and the outsole together with a distinctive lockstitch. These include a thick sole that is resistant to losing its shape, extremely high rigidity, a sturdy finish for long-lasting wear, and the ability to replace the soles. As a standard for high-end dress shoes, it has long been the ideal method for finishing shoes to be both sturdy and beautiful. However, because it involves complex processes, the downside is the high cost. For this reason, many shoes may look like Norwegian or Goodyear welted footwear but are actually made differently. These shoes are produced with the desire to provide the real thing, regardless of such costs. Gaerne refers to shoes like the No.145 and FUGA as "integral shoes"—that is, "shoes that completely wrap around the foot."
These are handmade products manufactured one by one by craftsmen at the Gaerne factory in the Veneto region of Italy.
From the No.145, you should be able to feel the burning pride and sensibility of Gaerne's skilled craftsmen, nurtured by the history and culture of Italian manufacturing. And from the stitches that each craftsman has sewn securely and carefully, you can also perceive their obsession with and love for these shoes.
